- a white Nappy ever after bin liner, holding the above
- a bin
How to fold the nappy |

The usual foldThe nappy is folded at right angles to the stitching across the middle, so that the folded nappy is thin-thick-thin. (The extra padding in the middle third is not so pronounced on newborn nappies.) |

New born fold (or runny poo fold)Lay nappy with seams running vertically. Fold back the front of the nappy – about one third. Fold in the sides towards the middle. Turn out the corners

Boy foldThis fold creates extra absorbency at the front. Lay nappy with seams running vertically. Turn back front – about a third. Turn in the sides. |

Now place the folded nappy on the wrap, cover it with a liner sheet and slip the whole assembly under your baby's bottom. The trick is to pull up the cotton nappy between your babies legs and flare it out around the tummy. Then pull up the front of the wrap and close the velcro. Take care that none of the cotton protrudes from under the wrap or baby's clothing will get wet. |
Demonstration
There is nothing better than someone showing you how to put on a nappy. Please call for a demonstration once your baby is born and you are ready to start using the nappies. Once you've got the hang of it, let us know if you'd be happy to demonstrate to a neighbour — or an entire ante-natal class.Liners
Only a single layer must be used. Either fold any excess around the nappy or cut the sheets to the size you need. The soiled liner should be put down the loo.The bin
Use our white bin bag to line the blue bin. When the handle is folded down behind, the lid will open. When the handle is raised or in front the lid is locked.
Used nappies
Put used nappies straight into the bin. Do not rinse off. The nappies simply dry out and the bin will then not smell.
Collection
Please tie the bag with two knots and leave it outside your door for collection. We often come in the early morning so you may prefer to put the bag out the night before. In fact, if you are able to leave your bag outside safely, it is a big timesaver for us not to have to ring your bell. If you store your nappy bin outside it is still necessary to tie up your bag before we arrive otherwise we will not be able to collect it for hygiene reasons.
If your collection day is the same as your household refuse collection day let us know. We may be able to change the day or will arrange some means of avoiding your nappies being mistaken for refuse. The nappies are your responsibility so please ensure they are safe. We reserve the right to charge for replacement if they are lost.
If you need us to come out to you outside the normal routine, eg if we are unable to collect your soiled nappies, we will have to raise a special collection charge (the cost will vary according to the length of the journey). You can avoid this by holding the nappies for an extra week or arranging to bring them to our premises yourself.
Your weekly order
As your baby grows we'll send you whatever size and quantity of nappies you need. Just let us know when your nappies are not big enough or absorbent enough. We can also deliver larger wraps.
Each week we'll send you an e-mail (or a text message if you prefer) confirming the number of nappies you've said you'll need. You are welcome to change your order up until 24 hours before delivery. It is best if you can specify any changes by e-mail, but answering machine messages, text messages and notes taped to your bag are fine as well. If you need new wraps please be specific about the brand and size you want, or the brand and size you are currently using.
As your baby gets older you will need fewer nappies, and since it is safer to request slightly more nappies each week than you think you will need, every so often you will probably need to ask that we "collect only". You can also ask that we reduce (or increase) your usual order. Our weekly fee is per visit not per nappy, so if you let us know in advance that you do not need us to visit, there is no charge.
